She was predeceased by: her parents, Floyd McClanahan and Alpha Hurley McClanahan; her husband Donald Gene Thomas, Sr.; her brothers, Cecil and Clell McClanahan; and her granddaughter Crystal Hollingsworth.
She is survived by: her children, Barbara Carter (Randy), Debra Blake (Buddy), Carol Morrison (Greg), Naomi Hollingsworth-Solis (Raul), Becky Elmendorf (Ken), Donnie Thomas, Ronnie Thomas (Roseann), Rhonda Everett (Seth), Juanita Watts and Donna Tedder (Bill); and her grandchildren, Dallas Taylor, Denny Morrison, Steve Edwards, Johnathan Haislip, Leighann Whitehurst, Shannon Leblanc, Travis Morrison, Taylor Thomas, Brittany Watts and Abby Watts. She is also survived by nine great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.
A graveside service was held on Friday, September 11th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Pinelawn Memorial Park (4488 US-70, Kinston, NC 28504).
