We are sad to announce that on July 17, 2025, at the age of 72, Charles Elbert Thomas Jr. of Kinston, North Carolina passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his wife Janet Richard; his parents, Charles Thomas and Mary Ruth Thomas; and his siblings, Barbara White, Cathy Smith and Carroll Thomas.
He is survived by: his children, Bobbi Jo Pittsley (Robert), Allison Thomas (Derrick Warren), Robert Lee Thomas (Mary Beth), Charles "Chuckie" Thomas, Samuel "Sammy" Thomas and David Thomas; his grandchildren, Robbie, Jake, Ashlyn, Lucas, Gavin, Naomi, Laura Jean, Charlotte and Charlie; and his sisters, Jean Vincent (Tim) and Kim Yeaton. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews; several special cousins.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 24th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Garner Funeral Home (209 W Peyton Ave, Kinston, NC 28501). A graveside service will be held on Friday, July 25th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Philyaw Family Cemetery.
