He was predeceased by: his wife Geraldine Deaver Herald; his parents, Samuel Jennings Herald and Ollie Belle Cornes Herald of Crum; his daughter Rose Herald; and his son-in-law Jim Rombold.
He is survived by: his children, Johnny Clyde Herald of Savannah, GA, Jeffery Herald (Marie) of Stone Mountain, GA, Tommy Stapleford of Kinston and Gwen Rombold of Hookerton; and his siblings, Mary Williamson (James) of Kenova and Roy Herald (Brenda) of Pritchard. He is also survived by grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
