She was predeceased by : her parents, Haywood Ronald and Nora Person Kennedy; her sister Annie Miller Kennedy; and her nephews, Ronald Curtis Neeley and John Monroe Neeley, Jr..

She is survived by : her daughters, Judith Cecilia Hall Wicker (Terry) and Lou Jane Hall Outlaw (Linwood) of Grifton; her grandchildren, Mikael Ray Gross (Holly) of Raleigh, Jane Leigh Potter Miller (Danny) of Snow Hill, William Anthony "Billy" Potter of Hope Mills and Heather Lyn Outlaw Bateman (Stephen) of Grifton; and her niece Patsi Anderson. She is also survived by nine great-grandchildren; three great, great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Sunday, April 28th 2024 from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM at the Edwards Funeral Home & Cremations (702 N Queen St, Kinston, NC 28501). A graveside service was held on Sunday, April 28th 2024 at 3:00 PM at the Westview Cemetery (2679 Hillcrest Rd, Kinston, NC 28504).
