He is survived by: his mother Ruth Drake of Kinston; his children, Kimberly Carthen of Grifton, NC, NeTyra Drake of Raleigh, NC, Michael Carthen of Baltimore, MD, Tyrone Carthen of Brooklyn, NY, Ledger Williams of Kinston, NC, Marquan Drake of Durham, NC and Rico Jones of Zebulon, NC; and his sisters, Juanita Larry of Kinston, NC, Dorothy Golden of Kinston, NC, Doris Wellington of Kinston, NC, Betty Plymouth of Kinston, NC and Carrie Gallaway of Bennettsville. He is also survived by 34 grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren.
