She is survived by: her children, David Burney of Coridon, IN, Melvin Burney of Petersburg, VA, Michael Burney of Fayetteville, Linda Burney Solomon of Kinston, Esther Diane Burney Taylor of Kinston, Brenda Burney Mathews (James) of Kinston and Cynthia Burney Mackey of Kinston; and her sisters, Delores Lynette Nobles and Marilyn Harris of Greenville. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.
