George Ivey Obituary
It is with sadness that the passing of George Ivey of Kinston, North Carolina is shared. George, born on April 13, 1932, passed away on October 12, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
George will be remembered for the time spent with loved ones and the moments that brought joy to those around him. Friends and family will honor George by reflecting on shared memories and the positive influence he had in their lives. Though George is no longer present, the bonds he created and the experiences shared will endure. George’s memory will continue to be a source of comfort for all who knew him.
He was predeceased by: his parents, George Washington Ivey, Sr. and Vesta Ivey (Frankie Howell Ivey); and his brothers, James Ivey and Gene Ivey. He is survived by: his son Ken Ivey of Kinston; his nephew Phillip Ivey (Sonya) of Winston Salem; and his great-niece Savannah.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 15th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the TBD Howard Carter Funeral Home (1608 W Vernon Ave, Kinston, NC 28504).
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Lenoir County Parks and Recreation, 2602 W. Vernon Ave. Kinston, NC.
