He was predeceased by: his mother Pauline Brown; his former wife Jean Holloman Brown of Pikeville; his son Richard Eugene Brown of Goldston, NC; his sister Lynette Singleton Wiley of Kinston; and his wife Shelba Hill Brown of Snow Hill.
He is survived by: his children, Diana Brown Anders of Pikeville and Tim Brown (Kim) of Snow Hill; his stepchildren, Randy Whitley, Carolyn Whitley Tyndall, Jane Nethercutt and Crystal Leigh Ockerman; his brother Gerald Singleton; his grandchildren, Jordan Anders (Amanda) of Greenville, Justin Brown (Melissa) of Rosewood, Crystal Jade Anders of Pikeville and Eric Nethercutt (Amy) of Kinston; and his great grandchildren, Camden Brown and Cameron Anderson.
