It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James Cummings of Kinston, North Carolina, born in Wilson, North Carolina, who passed away on January 24, 2023, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his father Luther Rance Cummings; his brothers, Stephen Walker Cummings and Joe Staten Cummings; his sisters-in-law, Linda Tripp Cummings and Joyce Banks Cummings; and his niece Charmon Cummings.
He is survived by: his wife Jean Carol Cummings; his son Thomas "Wayne" Cummings (Herminia); his sisters, Jane Cummings White and Gypsy Cummings Wetherington (Greg Wetherington); and his nieces and nephews, Stevie Cummings, Elizabeth "Liz" Cummings Rushing, Stephen Cummings, Joseph Cummings, Rodney Daugherty, Gwen Jones, Joe Cummings, Jeffrey Wetherington and Jeannie Wetherington Novakowski.
