She was predeceased by : her husband Arthur Lee Ashworth; and her parents, Bernice Thompson and Sadie Thompson. She is survived by : her daughters, Debra A. Bonar (David) of Grifton and Patsy A. Cuddington (Timothy) of Grifton; her granddaughter Dana B. Gicale (Stephen) of Humpton, GA; her great grandchildren, Duncan and Xavier Gicale; and her sister Corine Wooten of Grifton. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews, and several close family members.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, May 22nd 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Pinelawn Memorial Park (4488 W Vernon Ave, Kinston, NC 28504). A graveside service was held on Wednesday, May 22nd 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
