He is survived by: his sons, Michael Bryant, Dwane Bryant, Joe Bryant, Jr., Reggie Bryant of Kinston and Carlton Bryant of Virginia; and his siblings, David Bryant, Clayton Bryant of Kinston, Edna Bryant, Frances Bryant, Ann Bryant and Joyce Bryant of Kinston.
