He was predeceased by: his parents, Johnnie Gray and Minnie Goodman Gray; his sister Anne Gray Mewborn; his brother-in-law Josh Mewborn; his mother-in-law Tullie Taylor; his sister-in-law Geraldine Taylor Heath; and his grandson Adam Christopher Askew.
He is survived by: his wife Alice Jean Taylor Gray; his children, Gail Gray Warren (Louie) of Wilmington, Nancy Gray Askew (Joe) of Greenville, Johni Gray Hussey (Brian) of LaGrange, Allyson Gray Edwards (Ray) of Greenville, Blair Wallace Campbell, Brody Warren Campbell, Barrett Katherine Campbell, Beau Gray Campbell of Cary and Taylor Suzanne Flowers Bowen (Brad); his grandchildren, Braden Thomas Bowen and Carly Michael Bowen of Ayden; his child Lesley Vann Warren Jernigan (Brad); his grandchildren, Butler Elizabeth Jernigan, Taylor Grayce Jernigan and Sutton Layne Jernigan of Wilmington; his children, Grayson Brian Hussey (Diandra) of Goldsboro and Johnathan Neal Flowers (Sarah); his grandchild Wilder Gray Flowers of Zebulon; his children, Briley Hussey of Charlotte, Lane Thomas Hussey of Greenville and Laura Edwards Craven (Mark); his grandchild Baker Wardell Craven of Raleigh; his daughter Sarah Edwards James (Trey); his grandchild Karson Leota James of Robersonville; his children, Ashley Askew Hodges (Matt) of Greenville and Amanda Askew Czaplijski (Geoff); his grandchildren, Skylar Gray Czaplijski, Sloan Olivia Czaplijski of Leland, Alexander Warren Askew (Erin Morris) of Greenville, Alexis Nicole Askew of Greenville and Adam Christopher; his great grandchildren, Adam Christopher Askew, Jr. and Joseph Warren Askew II of Colorado; his niece Martha Gray Mewborn Bray; his sister-in-law Rose Marie; his great-nephews, Kenneth Tull Osborne and Melvin Gene Grant (Rita); and his cousin Goodman.
The family asks that all in attendance please wear a mask to the service.
