Kathryn Civils Pollock Obituary
Kathryn Civils Pollock, 65, of Kinston passed away on Friday July 14, 2017 at Kitty Askins Hospice Center. Kathy was a member of Queen Street United Methodist Church. She taught school for 37 years and loved all her children. She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma Sorority. Kathy cherished her many friends, and always has a special place in her heart for her dogs.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Gwendolyn Civils. Kathy is survived by her husband of 33 years, Hugh Pollock; son Matthew Dearden Pollock and wife Meagan of Raleigh; step-daughter Kimberly P. Whitley and husband Brian of Kinston; step-son Bradley H. Pollock and wife Alison of Raleigh; sister Mary Civils Hardy and husband Kirby of Kinston; brother John David Civils and wife Frances of Morehead City; grandchildren Anna Pollock and Will Whitley and many nieces and nephews that were very dear to her.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, July 17, 2017 at Queen Street United Methodist Church with Pastor Allen Bingham officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Lenoir County SPCA, 2455 Rouse Road Ext., Kinston, NC 28504 or Queen Street United Methodist Church, 500 N. Queen Street, Kinston, NC 28501.
