He was predeceased by: his parents, Eleanor Baker (Rivers) and Sammy Braswell; and his pet Nellie. He is survived by: his wife Joan Braswell of Newport; his son Jeffrey Braswell (Josie); his siblings, Kenny Baker (Nancy), Debra King of Kinston, Sandra Rouse of Kinston and Debbie Paulos of Augusta, Georgia; and his grandsons, Jack and James. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 8th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Edwards Funeral Home & Cremations (702 N Queen St, Kinston, NC 28501). A memorial service will be held on Sunday, February 8th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
