He is survived by: his children, Miranda Vincil, James McLawhorn, Daniel McLawhorn and Samuel McLawhorn; his grandchildren, McKinley, Sydney, Heath, Ethan and Anna George; and his siblings, Barbara McLawhorn, Kathrine Cooke, Marie McBride, Mark McLawhorn, Paul McLawhorn and Alton McLawhorn.
