He was predeceased by: his parents, Hillary Thomas Brinson and Effie Brinson (Hall); and his half-brothers, Leland "Bud", James Brinson and Carl Dean Baker.
He is survived by: his wife Joan; his children, Kenneth Mozingo (Danielle) and Patricia Massey (Ben); his grandchildren, Summer Boyette (James), Matthew, Christian Mozingo, Hailey and Tanner Reaves; his great grandchildren, Noah and Wyatt Fishman; his siblings, Doug Brinson (Denise), Kathleen Brinson and Glenda Faye Hanchey (Earl); and his sisters-in-law, Lillie Baker and Raye Brinson.
