He was predeceased by: his parents, Julia Grace Venters and Ray S. Barbre, Sr.; his stepmother Carolyn Barbre, Sr.; his siblings, Betty Barbre and Price G. Weaver; his father-in-law James Peeler; Ray S. Barbre, III and Jonathan M. Barbre.
He is survived by: his wife Becky Barbre of Kinston; his daughter Morgan of New Haven, CT.; his sister-in-law Sandy K. Weaver of Smyrna, GA; his mother-in-law Carolyn Peeler; his brother-in-law John Peeler of High Point, NC; and his cousin Mary Hood of Dover, NC. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and godchildren.
A funeral service was held on Friday, August 14th 2026 at 1:30 PM at the Queen Street United Methodist Church (500 N Queen St, Kinston, NC 28501).
