She is survived by: her husband Derrick Hooker of Kinston; her son Michael Uzzell of Raleigh; and her sisters, Kate Uzzell of Fayetteville, NC, Brenda Murrell of Fayetteville, NC and Gwendolyn Woodard of Fayetteville, NC. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.
