It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Richard Burkett of Kinston, North Carolina, who passed away on December 20, 2020, at the age of 75, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Burkett and Laura Collier Burkett; his wife Carol H. Burkett; and his siblings, Elizabeth Reynolds, Dorothy Grai, Malissa Davis, Nell McGee, Gail Reynolds and Charles Burkett.

He is survived by: his children, Wendy Burkett (Paul McPherson) and Dr. Greg Burkett (Missy); his granddaughters, Jennifer Sharp and Sara McPherson; his great grandchildren, Jordan, Brooklyn, Taylor and Charlie Sharp; and his siblings, Dallas Burkette, David Burkette and Carol B Cahoon.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Lenoir County SPCA.
