He was predeceased by: his wife Hazel Griffin Reaves; his parents, Johnnie J. Reaves and Ethel Jones Reaves; and his brother James "Dick" Reaves. He is survived by: his siblings-in-law, Eugene Griffin, Obed Griffin of Trenton, Mavis Harrell of James City, Sandra Martnes of Kinston, Amanda Howard of Kinston and Rita Barrow of La Grange; and his pet Wrinkles. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
