She was predeceased by: her parents, Gene Smith and Rachel Smith. She is survived by: her husband Warren "Wes" S. Perry Jr.; her sons, Warren and Andrew; her daughter-in-law Lacy Pishke Perry; her grandchildren, Bennett, Kate, Zach and Quinn; her brother Gray Smith (Leigh); and her nieces, Jane and Amelia.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 23rd 2026 at 2:00 PM at the St Mary's Episcopal Church (800 Rountree St, Kinston, NC 28501).
In lieu of flowers, the family invites memorial contributions to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research in Stewart's honor. Her son Warren will run the New York City Marathon on November 1, 2026, in her memory, raising funds to support the foundation's work toward better treatments and a cure for Parkinson's disease.
