She was predeceased by: her husband Earl Spence; her parents, John Ivey and Florence Edwards Harris; her siblings, Robert Harris, James "Demi" Harris and Lena Belle Wade; her daughter-in-law Rose Elizabeth Wade; and her sister-in-law Dorothy Mitchell Harris (Carl "Buddy" Wade).
She is survived by: her children, Virginia Elaine "Wade" Yater (Jeremy) of Kinston, Jeanna Reeves (Craig) of Raleigh, Marvin Wade of Grifton and Joe Spence of Kinston; her grandchildren, Michelle West of Kinston, Thomas Wade (Tina) of Kinston, Jonathan Wade of Grifton, Stacy Brown of Kinston, Taylor Reeves (Victoria) of Raleigh, Kayla Spence of Kinston, Corey Reeves of Raleigh and Christopher Yater of Kinston; her great grandchildren, Ava Camille Taylor, Alexander Caden West, Abigail Claire West, Lillie Grace Wade, Levi Thomas Wade, Lincoln Avery Wade and Sadie Quinn Reeves; her brother Julius "Bud" Harris; and her niece Ann Minkler (Rocky) of Kinston.
