He was predeceased by: his father James William Carlin; and his nephew Brandon Bodsford. He is survived by: his wife Nancy J. Carlin; his mother Selma Emerson Carlin of King, NC; his daughter Julie Carlyle Burkett (Jeff) of Kinston; his granddaughters, Summer and Savannah Burkett; his great grandchild Paisley Sage Jenkins; his siblings, Jane Bodsford (Keith) of Denver, NC and Jimmy Carlin (Cindy) of King, NC; his niece Erin Bodsford; and his nephew Drew Carlin. He is also survived by many other family members and close friends.
