Margie Marie Pendergrass Obituary

Margie P. Pendergrass, 85, of Kittrell, NC, passed away peacefully at her home on June 19, 2026 after a brief illness.

For years, Margie enjoyed fishing, gardening, and spending time with her family. She and her husband, Wayne, farmed for many years before buying a concessions trailer and traveling the country selling funnel cakes. She met many people in her travels and made many friends over the years that she still talked to, even after being fully retired for several years.

She is survived by her husband of 43 years, L. Wayne Pendergrass of the home, a daughter, Sandra Newton of Henderson, a step-daughter. Kimberly Franklin (Kevin) a granddaughter, Kelli C. Collins (Ken) of Kittrell and a great granddaughter, Kaelynn Collins. She is also survived by a brother James Parham of Greensboro, NC and many cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Allene Parham and one son, James (Tommy) Thomas Newton, Jr. Also preceding her were 3 sisters, Vivian Williams, Ann White and Julia Parham and one brother, Charles Parham.

The family will receive friends at their home and have requested no food or flowers for the family.

Per her request, a formal service will not be held.
