Franz Smith Obituary

In loving memory of Franz Smith (Knightdale, North Carolina), who departed this world on September 17, 2025 at the age of 79. Franz leaves behind a legacy remembered by family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence W. Smith and Ruby Raper Smith; and his sister Diane McLemore. He is survived by: his daughters, Kimberly Smith-West (Joseph West) and Jessica Michel (Jason Michel); his grandchildren, Izabella Drogoszewski (Don "Trey" Smith), Jacob West, Ruby Michel and Molly Michel; his pet Saddie Smith; Dianne Smith. He is also survived by his family, he was known as brother, husband, papa, but most importantly, daddy.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, September 23rd 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the L. Harold Poole Funeral Service (944 Old Knight Rd, Knightdale, NC 27545). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, September 24th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Bethlehem Baptist Church (8400 Poole Rd, Knightdale, NC 27545).

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Vietnam Veterans of America (VVA).
