He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph Mitchell and Beatrice Cooper Mitchell. He is survived by: his children, Anthony Benthall (Linh), Chris Stewart, Eric Mitchell (Karen) and Michelle Mitchell Couser; and his siblings, Jewell Wiggins (George), Dennis Ballard (Pamela), Linda Tillmon, Joy Mitchell, Timothy Mitchell (Monica) and Penny Cooper. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren, six great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 4th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the New Ahoskie Baptist Church (401 W Hayes St, Ahoskie, NC 27910). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 4th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Saturday, October 4th 2025 at the Mitchell Memorial Gardens (210 W Saluda Hall Rd C, Ahoskie, NC 27910).
