It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Willie James Cox (Knightdale, North Carolina), who passed away on August 9, 2022, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Johnnie Cox and Pauline Sturdivant Cox; his wife Juanita Cox; his former wife Orgie Cox; and his siblings, Lynn, Martha, Jannie, Emma, Shirley, Loretta, Minnie, Big Johnnie, Little Johnnie, Walter and James Thomas.
He is survived by: his children, Steven, Jeffrey, Andre Cox (late Vikki), Vanessa Cox Williams (Owen), Valerie Cox Dantzler (Tony) and Vera Cox Booker (Alan); his goddaughter Wendy Sumpter; and his siblings, Roberta Goins, Ruth Massey, Pauline McCoy, Robert Cox and Freddie Cox. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren.
