He was predeceased by: his father James Walter Sutton. He is survived by: his mother Irene Gardner Sutton; his wife Doris Sutton of Kinston, NC; his sons, Joshua Washington of Columbia, SC, Demetrius Sutton of Kinston, NC, Deon Sutton of Kinston, NC and Charlie Sutton, Jr. of Kinston, NC; and his siblings, James Sutton (Denise), Verna Green (Audie) of La Grange, NC. and Linda King of La Grange, NC.. He is also survived by his eight grandchildren.
Viewing was held on Saturday, September 5th 2026 from 2:30 PM to 3:30 PM at the Taylors Chapel Free Will Baptist Church (4976 Fields Station Rd, La Grange, North Carolina 28551, United States). A celebration of life was held on Saturday, September 5th 2026 at 3:30 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Sunday, September 6th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Fairview Cemetery (203 S Center St, La Grange, NC 28551).
