He was predeceased by: his parents, C. W. Wood and Cynthia Wood; his sons, Randy Earl Wood and David DeWayne Wood; and his siblings, Leslie Carrol Wood, Curbia Whitford Wood, Peggy Joyce Wood James, Faye Shelton Wood Suggs and Marjorie Dare Wood Waters.
He is survived by: his wife Jean Newsome Wood; his children, Diane Wood Sutton, Jeffery Wood and Angela Wood; his grandchildren, Kristen Sutton Tingen, Garrett Wood Sutton, David Alec Wood, Randy Clifton Wood, Arrin Wood Herring, Ethan Dale Wood, Justin David Smith and Benjamin Earl Smith; and his sisters, Mary Ann Wood Smith, Dalthia O'Neal Wood Eason and Linda Kay Wood Taylor. He is also survived by 11 great-grandchildren.
