He was predeceased by: his parents, Gerald Joseph Golden Jr. and Marjorie Evelyn; his sister Diane; his in-laws, James and Lillian Bain; and his brother-in-law Julian Bain.
He is survived by: his wife Deborah Ann; his sons, Gerald Joseph Golden IV, Shane (Theresa), Josh (Sara) and James "JJ"; and his grandchildren, Bailey, Lyric, Xander (Liz), Cade, Hayes, Gage, Katelyn, Jazlyn, Max, James and Kayla. He is also survived by his wife, children, grandchildren, extended family, and friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 9th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Rouse Funeral Home (108 N Caswell St, La Grange, NC 28551). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 10th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the New Direction Church (1770 NC-91, Snow Hill, NC 28580). A committal service will be held on Saturday, October 10th 2026 from 12:15 PM to 12:30 PM at the Westview Cemetery (917 Cleveland Dr, Kinston, NC 28504).
