He was predeceased by : his father William Henry Watson; and his siblings, Coy Watson, Eddie Watson, Myrtle Koffman, Bea Erdesky and Flora Wilkins.

He is survived by : his grandchildren, Wilson, Viola Johnson, Foy Watson, Roy Watson and Margie Lee Watson; his wife Esther Wade Watson; his son Barry J. Watson (Debbie); and his siblings, Catherine Bowling, Robert Watson, Clifton Watson, Nonnie Rose and Mable Laws. He is also survived by her two daughters, their spouses, and four grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, Jim's family requests memorial contributions to be made to Kitty Askins Hospice Center, 107 Handley Park Court, Goldsboro, NC 27534.
