He was predeceased by: his parents, Milford Russell Vinson and Carrie Mae Parrish Vinson; his daughter Andrea Nikole "Nikki" Vinson; and his sisters, Jean Rouse and Kaye Gray.

He is survived by: his wife Brenda Wade Vinson; his children, Melanie Heath (John Mark) and Russ Vinson (April); his grandchildren, Avery Faulkner (Ashley), John Caleb Heath, Nathan Baker, Keiley Cloutier (Austin), Tyler Baker (Kayla) and Rylee Vinson; his great grandchild Bailey Nikole Cloutier; and his sister Janet Smith. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
