It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Sylvia Wetherington of La Grange, North Carolina, who passed away on October 8, 2025, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. Though her name may fade from the lips of time, the imprint Sylvia leaves upon the hearts of her loved ones remains eternally vivid — a testament to the depth of her spirit and the richness of her legacy.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Dr. Evander Carr Grady and Barbara Haggard Grady. She is survived by: her husband Pete Wetherington; her children, Grady Wetherington (Maria), Lynn Price (Lawrence) and Mary Ellen Wells (Johnny); her grandchildren, Connor Wetherington (Cara), Blaine Wetherington (Daniel), Kai Wells, Kree Wells and Sol Wells; and her great grandchildren, Ivey and Logan.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, October 10th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 2:30 PM at the Fairview Cemetery (107 N Forbes St, La Grange, NC 28551).
