William left this world on June 9, 2025 at the age of 86, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. He was predeceased by: his parents, Kirby Drew Howard and Kathleen Barwick Howard; and his siblings, Vernon Howard, Pete Howard, Dennis Howard, Edna Pearl Hinson, Ann "Monk" Wright, Helen Smith and Gail Godwin.
He is survived by: his wife Peggy Gooding Howard; his children, William Howard (Tammy), Wendy Kearney and Jeff Moore; his grandchildren, Drew Howard (Casey), Shane Howard (Abigaile), Emmett Howard, Gage Kearney (Leah) and Dylan Kearney (Ellie); his great grandchild Willis Kearney; his grandchild Jaden Kearney (Skyler); his great grandchild Weston Kearney; his brother Cecil Howard (Pam); his sisters-in-law, Rachel Sawberger, Brenda Butts and Linda Strickland; his nieces, Loretta Howard Sasser and Sue Carter Smith; and his nephew Edward Howard. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, June 11th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Rouse Funeral Home (108 N Caswell St, La Grange, NC 28551). A graveside service will be held on Thursday, June 12th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 2:30 PM at the Howard Family Cemetery (4148 Groundnut Creek Dr, La Grange, NC 28551).
