As Ruby departs from this earthly realm, her essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though Ruby may no longer walk beside us, her spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy Ruby leaves behind.
She was predeceased by: her parents, James Edmond Caulder and Carrie Agnes Love Caulder of Scotland County; and her daughter Patti Lynn Locklear (Brenda Jo Dean Helms) of Laurinburg. She is survived by: her significant other Willie J. Hicks; and her children, Ramona Dorrell Cribb (Gilbert) of Maxton and Rev. Timothy F. Hicks (Robin) of Jacksonville, AR. She is also survived by nine grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 3rd 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Springfield Church of God (10101 Gibson Rd, Laurel Hill, NC 28351). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 3rd 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Thursday, July 3rd 2025 at the Hillside Cemetery.
