The passing of Douglas Hix of Laurinburg, North Carolina leaves a void in the hearts of many, as we bid farewell to a loving soul who departed on August 16, 2025 at the age of 97. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, William Parker Hix and Daisye Mai Wiley Hix; and his siblings, Charles Parker Hix and Joye Hix Glovier. He is survived by: his wife Patricia DeFord Hix; his sons, Donald Parker Hix (Katherine) of Franklin County, Joshua Wiley Hix (Sarah) of Grayson and Timothy Preston Hix (Robin) of Lexington; and his grandson Grant Preston Hix (Megan) of Augusta. He is also survived by step-grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

“A truly Great Human has departed this orb of trouble and wonder. I never heard a sermon from him I disliked or disagreed with. Was blessed to serve as an Elder at Centre Presbyterian Church during one of his tenure and "Thankful" for him conducting my mother's funeral service after he had "Retired". He would state the facts simply and elegantly. He always listened and would give you an opinion if asked. So sad to say goodbye to people such as Doug, but we must. Blessings on Pat, and his family.”
