He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest Strickland and Agnes Sweat Strickland; and his siblings, Alean S. Carter, Mattie Hunt and Dorothy Oxendine.
He is survived by: his wife Linda Strickland; his sons, Kevin Dewight Strickland (Elizabeth) of Laurinburg and Jeffrey Lynn Strickland (Sharon) of Waynesville, GA; his grandchildren, Logan Miller, Allyson Warren (Matt), Morgan Strickland, Zach Miller, Kaitlyn Shannon, Tyler Strickland, Jacob Strickland, Regan, Savannah Strickland and Peyton Spry; his great grandchildren, Peighton Dixon, Chayton Prophet and Julian Del-A-Cruz; and his sisters, Katie Strickland Harris Locklear (Hollis) of Lumberton and Elizabeth Locklear (Dewey) of Fairmont. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and a loving extended family.
The family requests memorial donations be given to the Stewartsville Volunteer Fire Department, 8781 Johns Road, Laurinburg, NC 28352.
