He was predeceased by: his parents, James Perry Locklear, Sr. and Bertha Oxendine Locklear of Scotland County; his son Kristoffer "Brian" Locklear; his sister Judy L. Bowen; and his nephews, Richard N. Locklear, Jr., Don Lockey and Geoff Turner.
He is survived by: his wife Betty Clark Locklear; his daughter-in-law Kim Locklear of Rowland; his siblings, James "Grady" Locklear of Sumter, SC, Richard Nixon Locklear of Laurinburg, James Perry "JP" Locklear, Jr. of Laurinburg and Elsie L. Lockey of Laurinburg; and his pet Molly. He is also survived by loving nieces, nephews, extended family.
The family requests in lieu of flowers, donations may be given in Griffin's memory to the First United Methodist Church, Scotland Regional Hospice or Oak Grove Baptist Church.
