He was predeceased by: his parents, Hughie Clyde Johnson and Edna Mae Shepherd Johnson; and his brothers, Mitchell Johnson and Ken Johnson. He is survived by: his wife Darlene Yates Johnson; his daughter Dr. Alicia Johnson Franks; and his grandsons, Aaron and Colby Franks of Clanton, AL. He is also survived by loving nieces, nephews, and many friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given in his memory to Scotland Regional Hospice, P.O. Box 1033, Laurinburg, NC 28353 or to Central United Methodist Church, P O Box 397, Laurinburg, NC 28353.
