He is survived by: his wife Patty Rogers Smith; his sons, Marshall L. "Mark" Smith, Jr. (Kim) of Cary, NC and Eric R. Gaddy (Deb) of Spartanburg; his siblings, Maxie Smith of Bennettsville and Betty Smith of Laurinburg, NC; and his grandchildren, Christopher Smith, Matthew Smith, Christopher Lilly, Kate Gaddy Philpot and Frank R. Gaddy. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and other extended family.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 23rd 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Caledonia Methodist Church (15201 Barnes Bridge Rd, Laurinburg, NC 28352). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 23rd 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Friday, October 23rd 2026 at the McCormick Family Cemetery (13200 Blues Farm Rd, Laurinburg, NC 28352).
