It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ruby Simmons Rogers (Laurinburg, North Carolina), who passed away on June 10, 2023, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Mayo Simmons and Sadie Huggins Simmons; her children, Teresa Rogers Saunders, Steve "Stevie" Bruce Rogers, Darrell Rufus Rogers and Michael Eugene Simmons; her granddaughter Jayme Rogers; and her siblings, Glenn Eugene Simmons, Harold Simmons, Bertha S. Smith and Estelle Bunyard.
She is survived by: her daughter Janet Rogers Mudd (Andy Mudd) of Laurinburg; her children-in-law, Gene Saunders, Jr. of Holden Beach and Deborah Simmons of Rowland; her sister-in-law Lalavae Simmons of Laurinburg; her grandchildren, Albert "Gene" Saunders, III, Heather Mudd, Dean Simmons, Courtney Saunders, Daniel Simmons, Archie Anderson "Andrew" Mudd, III and Jacob Rogers; and her caregivers, Brenda Locklear, Donna Clark of Gigi Thompson, T. J and Teresa Stephens. She is also survived by nieces and nephews, her church family and many devoted friends.
Memorial donations are requested to be given to Scotland Regional Hospice or the Alzheimer's Disease Research Foundation.
