With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Ruth Smith Thomas of Laurinburg, North Carolina, who passed away on January 16, 2026 at the age of 93. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, George Smith and Fannie E. Morgan Smith; her husband John D. Thomas; and her sister Lauretta Ball. She is survived by: her daughters, Sherry Osborn (Bob), Terri Lemmond (Paul) and Laurinburg; her grandchildren, Angela Jones (Mike) and Jonathan Lemmond (Marissa); her great grandchildren, Shyann Monte, Sadie Lemmond and Rowan; and her great great grandchild Kamden Locklear.

Memorial donations are requested to be given to Central Global Methodist Church or Scotland Regional Hospice.
