She was predeceased by: her parents, Everette Spurgeon Cook and Willie Thomas Cook; her sons, James Monroe Barnhill and Paul Barnhill; and her brother Everette Cook, Jr..

She is survived by: her children, Kevin Williams of Laurinburg, Sherry D. Castro of High Point, Tamra Barnhill of High Point, Brenda Lewis of Laurinburg, Linda O'Quinn of Clintwood, VA and Sheila Cottingham (James) of Laurel Hill; and her siblings, Ivy Cook of Laurel Hill, Betty Phillips of Laurinburg, Cindy Tindell of Laurinburg, Juanita Groom of Laurinburg and Delores Rye of Laurinburg. She is also survived by fifteen grandchildren, twenty-five great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild; along with a host of loving nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
