He was predeceased by: his parents, Ray Isaac Payne and Virginia Logan Payne; his wife Phyllis; his sister Carolyn Moore; and his brother-in-law Paul Moore.
He is survived by: his daughters, Donna Payne Sikes (Joe) of Tatum, SC and Kathy Medlin Beane (Fred) of Laurinburg; his grandchildren, Brandy Butcher (Dan), Danielle Shaw (Ian) and William Medlin; and his great grandchildren, Alec Shaw, Kendell Medlin, Bradley Shaw, Lydia Shaw, James Talon Medlin, Devon Jackson, Claire Butcher, Christine Butcher of Chase Butcher, D. J, Norris and Ginia Norris. He is also survived by his extended family and many loving friends.
