He was predeceased by: his parents, Max Donald Carpenter and Mary Lorene Black Carpenter. He is survived by: his wife Amy Barrett Carpenter; his children, Jacob Carpenter (Cassie Isreal) of Lawndale, Casey Carpenter Snellings (Adam) of Lawndale and Charlcy Carpenter (Kyle Carroll) of Lawndale; his grandchildren, Leila Rae Snellings, Lane Jett Snellings and Lynlee Scott Snellings; his sister Shawn Carpenter McNeary (Paul) of Kings Mountain; his niece Alyssa McNeary; and his nephew Wilson McNeary.

Memorials may be made to Carpenter's Grove Baptist Church, 1117 Carpenters Grove Church Road, Lawndale, NC 28090.
