We announce the death of Barry Alonza Gentry (Leasburg, North Carolina), who passed away on September 14, 2026, at the age of 67. Barry will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. Barry will be remembered for the impact he had on the lives of those around him. Friends, family, and colleagues will cherish their memories and the time shared. Barry’s absence will be deeply felt by those who valued his companionship.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert D. Gentry and Bertha Pass Gentry; his brothers, Robert Gentry, Jr. and David Wayne Gentry; and his grandmother Annie Pass.
He is survived by: his siblings, Cheryl Gentry of Durham, Kenneth Gentry (Shamber) of Mebane, Kathy Taylor of Graham and Nakesha Gentry of Mebane. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other loving relatives and friends.
Visitation was held on Saturday, September 19th 2026 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at 706 Roosevelt St, Mebane, NC 27302. A funeral service was held on Sunday, September 20th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the St. James Missionary Baptist Church (1065 Solomon Lea Rd, Leasburg, NC 27291).
