It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Susie Woody Caldwell of Leicester, North Carolina, who passed away on October 20, 2025, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. In her absence, her spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Ulysses Roy and Geneva Ingle Woody; her husband Ted Caldwell; her brother Neal Woody; and her grandson Alex Jarosz.
She is survived by: her son Jeff Caldwell (Ashley Williams); her granddaughter Bradleigh Martin (Blake); her great grandchild Copelyn Martin; and her family, Dr. Gardner, David Woody and Heleodoro Agustin Lopez.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 22nd 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Groce Funeral Home - Patton Ave. (1401 Patton Ave, Asheville, NC 28806). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 22nd 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Wednesday, October 22nd 2025 at 3:30 PM at the Cross Rock Baptist Church Cemetery.
