He was predeceased by: his parents, Mary "Betty" Cotterell and Fred W. H. Cotterell; the mother of his children Stephanie Cotterell; and his son-in-law William H. Meyle III. He is survived by: his spouse Chris Diehl; his brother Charles of Montville, N. J.; his children, Chris Cotterell (Julie) of Winchester, Kim Ellis (Rich) of Rocky Mount and Becky Meyle of Winchester; his stepchildren, Karen Kment (Dan) and Michael Diehl (Stacey); his grandchildren, Peyton Cotterell, Ethan, Sebastian Ellis, Freddy Meyle, Madeline, Sean Kment, Chloe and Eleni Diehl; and his nephews, Nicholas and C. J. Cotterell.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, September 19th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the George Washington Memorial Park (234 Paramus Rd, Paramus, NJ 07652).
