He was predeceased by: his father Merrill S. Nelson; and his brothers, Michael Nelson and Paul Nelson. He is survived by: his mother Pauline Nelson (Govoni); his wife Margaret Nelson (Grant); his children, Alan Nelson and Lori Perrone; his son-in-law John Perrone; and his grandchildren, Kimberly Perrone and Alexander Perrone. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
