With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Betty McRary McRee of Lenoir, North Carolina, who passed away on July 15, 2025 at the age of 91. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

Though Betty McRary may journey beyond the horizon of our sight, her essence remains woven into the very fabric of our being — a guiding light in the darkness, a beacon of hope in the night.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Ralph McRary and Nellie McRary; her husband John David McRee; her siblings, Blanche Reid, Shirley Sims and Odell McRary; and her siblings-in-law, Becky McRee and Raymond McRee.
She is survived by: her children, Terri Chester (Timothy McCarthy) and Wesley Chester (Talia Morales); and her siblings-in-law, Allen and Evelyn McRee. She is also survived by nieces and nephews, as well as great-nieces and great-nephews.
A memorial service was held on Friday, July 25th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Greenway Presbyterian Church (415 Pennell St NE, Lenoir, NC 28645).
